    The current version of FreeAirMap uses maps from the Internet (Sentinal2, OpenStreetMap, OpenTopoMap, rain maps, OpenAIP data, Topo New Zealand) as well as maps stored on the GEMINI server (OpenFlightMap, TPC, ONC, Sectionals, IFR, Plan, and WAC maps). The maps provided by the GEMINI server will no longer be available from spring 2027 onwards, but the internet maps can still be used with the current version of FreeAirMap (2.6). If you wish to continue using the maps provided by the GEMINI server, you will need to install them locally. The appropriate installation programs are available for this purpose on the download page. To use these maps locally, you must also install version 3.0 of FreeAirMap. This version is available on the download page. Some of the map installations are quite large (TPC). The size of the downloads is specified. Please ensure that you have sufficient local storage space. The current version of FreeAirMap (2.6) can still be used in 2027 and beyond, but this version will then only have access to the internet maps.

    Older note

    If communication between the simulator and FreeAirMap does not work after an operating system update, this may be because the port used is occupied by another application. In this case, it is sufficient to change the port address in the Airmap.ini file. Example for P3D:

    The port specification can be found in the Airmap.ini file under:

    [Prepar3D]
    Port=54322

    The value 54322 should then be changed to 54323 or another value that is not blocked by another application.
